Joseph Hoskins was born in 1967 in Cambridge, Massachusetts and grew up in the Boston area. He attended Middlebury College in Vermont from 1985 - 1989. Since that time he has worked in a number of professional shops each with a different emphasis within the field of fine woodworking.

Joseph currently lives and works in Charlottesville, Virginia where he owns and operates a custom woodworking shop specializing in fine furniture in custom and limited production lines. He designs all of the pieces that he produces and enjoys incorporating both veneer and solid wood in his designs. He has also been involved in several design/build projects as the designer and builder.
